PRINCESS

Once there was a princess
Who lived in a tower.
The princess was sad
In her tower bower,
She stood by the window
Every single hour,
No one anywhere,
Only field and flower.
She could see the water,
The blue, blue sea.
She could feel the breeze
Ruffling the trees.
She could hear birds
And a buzzing bee.
She could see no one.
There was only she.
Winters came and went
Freezing and cold,
Summers followed spring
Then flashing colors bold.
Still she was alone.
The years did unfold.
No one came to her
To smile upon and hold.
The moral of the story?
We’re not meant to be alone.
Run down the tower stairs
And get on the phone.
